Abstract

PURPOSE: To elongate the life span and prevent the degradation of the lubricant oil by lowering below a certain value the radii ratio of an ellipse touching a rolling contact surface between a traction disk and a power roller.
CONSTITUTION: An input shaft 2 and an output shaft 3 are housed rotatable in a housing 1 opposing to each other. Inside said housing 1, traction disks 5 and 6 are fitted to the input shaft 2 and the output shaft 3 respectively. The traction disks 5 and 6 form a revolving circular surface 5a and 6a by opposing to each other in a complimentary manner. For power transmission from the input shaft 2 to the output shaft 3, a power roller 8 and 9 are arranged opposing to each other in a space formed between the revolving circular surface 5a and 6a of the both disks 5 and 6. The radii ratio an effipse touching the rooling contact surface between traction disks 5 and 6 and the power rollers 8 and 9 is made smaller than 7, thereby a spin moment becomes smaller at the contact surface.
