Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficient displacement without increasing the potential of electrodes by driving each of piezoelectric plates in the directions opposite from polarization directions up to a prescribed range. CONSTITUTION:The polarization directions of piezoelectric plates 2 and 3 are made symmetrical with respect to an intermediate electrode 4, and the respective input signals of amplifier circuits 11 and 10 have a phase difference of 180 deg.. A bias voltage source has a 3/8V voltage value. If the circuits 10 and 11 are so excited that the maximum amplitides of the output signals of the circuits 10 and 11 assume 1/4 volt by the input signal from a signal source 9, voltages (e3), (e4) are applied to the electrodes 5 and 6 of a piezoelectric bimorph element 1. This generates a bend in the bimorph 1 which in turn displaces a magnetic head 8 in the directions of arrows, and the head acts as a transducer.
