Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of illumination by performing accurate slit exposure while preventing scattered light, by fitting a light source for illumination at a prescribed relative angle. CONSTITUTION:Two-division type cylindrical, ellipse-surface reflectors 13 and 14 are provided; tungsten halogen lamps 1 are arranged at one focus, and an original surface on an original table 11 is arranged at the other focus. Here, the diameter of the hollow cylindrical body 3 of each lamp 1 is denoted as D, the length between a light emission part 2 and a projection part 4 for sealing as L, the length of the projection part 4 as DELTAl, and the angle of a light beam (i) to the horizontal direction as theta1. In this case, the lamp 1 is fitted at the angle shown by the equation (I). Consequently, scattered light from the lamp 1 is never reflected directly by reflectors 13 and 14 to light the original surface, and the irradiation of the original surface becomes uniform to perform accurate slit exposure, improving the efficiency of illumination.
