Abstract

PURPOSE: Resin articles whose antifogging properties are improved by kneading a surfactant into the resin is treated with a solution containing a cyclic compound, a surfactant and a solvent to give articles with increased moisture resistance.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrophilic resin such as hexakismethoxymethylmelamine, an anionic or nonionic surfactant, a crosslinking agent, a polymerization initiator, a catalyst, and others are dissolved in a solvent. Then, an article such as glassware is coated with the solution on the surface, heated or treated with ultraviolet rays to get antifogging properties. The article is treated with a solution containing more than 1wt% of surfactant other than cationic, more than 50wt% of cyclic compound such as 2-(2-hydroxy-3,5-di-t-amylphenyl)-2H-benzotriazole, when necessary, a solvent such as acetone, for dispersing them, preferably at 70W95°C for 10sec to 1hr to produce the objective moisture-resistance and antifogging article.
