Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to carry out denitrification treatment with high load, low dilution in good efficiency by a method wherein already oxidized or reduced treated water is cooled in a heat exchanger and circulated to a nitrating bacteria treating tank to prevent the rise of water temp. in said treating tank.
CONSTITUTION: A raw water such as excretion or the like is introduced into a mixing and decomposing tank 1 in which nitrating bacteria and denitrificating bacteria are coexisted and treated water herein is sent into a nitrating tank 2 and the obtained treated water of which almost all nitrides are converted to NO3-N, NO2-N is cooled through a heat exchanger 3 and circulated to the mixing and decomposing tank 1. By circulating said treated water whose temp. has been lowered, rise of water temp. due to the heat generated in both tanks is suppressed and highly efficient treatment is carried out at a high load and a low dilution condition without self- destruction of bacteria.
