Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable insulating material to be used with good touch without causing lumping on cooling, by a method wherein a heat transfer medium obtd. by mixing an elastic foam material contg. a water-soluble high-molecular material and a gelling agent with vaseline, is placed in a container.
CONSTITUTION: An elastic foam material contg. a gel composed mainly of a water- soluble high-molecular material and a gelling agent, is mixed with a vaseline or a grease to obtain a heat transfer medium for low-temperature insulation, which is then placed in a container. Most pref. water-soluble high-molecular materials are polyvinyl alcohol resins, particularly polyvinyl alcohol. Pref. gelling agent is borax. As the elastic foam material, polyurethane foam is inexpensive and preferred. As the vaseline, white petrolatum is most suitable. As the grease, silicone grease is preferred.
