Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recorder of longer life with easier recording in a varied density by providing a data register for selectively supply current to a thermal head with a means for providing a data for the same recording point on a recording paper corresponding to each section deivided of a reference recording period. CONSTITUTION:In a device for selectively supplying current to an in-line type thermal head 12, a block selection register 24 and a head selection register 25 are connected to a bus 18. A data is provided to the register 24 from a control section 14 to select any of blocks B1-Bl of a thermal head. The output of the section 14 is applied to one input of NAND gates 11-1l while a signal for a reference recording unit period to the other input is given from a reference recording period signal generator 26 in common. The signal generator 26 is composed of a monostable multivibrator, for example, and driving by a command from a control section 14 in a continuous energization period allowed for the thermal heads.
