CONSTITUTION:In image fiber 11, braid layer 15 consisting of quartz-glass fibers is provided through buffer layer 13 on core 12. Flame resisting layer 16 impregnated with the fire retardant material such as polyvinyl chloride, fire retardant polyethylene, fire retardent polyurethane, and fluoroplastic resin may be provided on braid layer 15. Since the melting point of the quartz-glass is high 1,600 deg.C, this resistance to heat cooperates with the heat insulating effect of the air layer obtained by shielding core 12 through buffer layer 13 to secure high-reliability picture monitor of the image fiber at a high temperature under a high pressure.
