Abstract

PURPOSE: To lubricate lips and lengthen their life by a mechanism wherein a tapered ringed groove is formed on a circumference of a lower surface of a body of revolution, the lips are mounted which each contact with both side surfaces of the groove, and a clearance among the ringed groove and the lips is used as a lubricating oil chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A ringed groove 11 opened downward is drilled to a circumference of a lower surface of a body of revolution 3. The groove has tapered surfaces 11a, 11b widened downward. A seal 21 is fastened to a stationary body 1 opposing to the groove, the seal 21 has an inside lip 21a and an outside lip 21b, and both lips contact with the tapered surfaces 11a, 11b of the ringed groove 11. A clearance among the ringed groove 11 and the sealing lips functions as a lubricating oil chamber 24, and supplies lubricating oil to the lips.
