Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the whole of a light emitting part uniform in a light source for the facsimile, by arranging the interval of each chip of a light emitting diode array so as to make approximately equal to or shorter than the distance to the original surface. CONSTITUTION:In a read system for the facsimile or the like where the original is illuminated by the light emitting diode array and the reflected light is subjected to photoelectric conversion, chips 5 of the light emitting diode array are so arranged that the interval (a) of them is approximately equal to or shorter than distance (b) to the surface of original 2. As a result, since the whole of the light emitting part becomes uniform in the light source, a uniform illumination distribution is obtained.
