Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit formation of the oxidized film of titanium beautifully on the surface of a metallic blank material having a spectacle frame shape, and obtain a spectacle frame exhibiting fresh color appearance and having corrosion resistance by plating a material contg. titanium by a dry plating method. CONSTITUTION:A metallic blank materail such as nickel chromium alloy or titanium having a spectacle frame shape is sufficiently degreased, and a coating layer of a material contg. titanium is formed to 0.5-10mum thereon by a dry plating method such as vavuum evaporation, ion plating, activation reaction vapor deposition method or sputtering, thence a colored and oxidized film is formed on part or the whole of the surface of said coating layer by anodic oxidation or oxidation with heating. In the case of forming the same partially, an emulsion for photoetching is coated over the entire surface, after which it is pattern-exposed and is developed, thence only the parts removed of the emulsion are anodized and are colored; thereafter, the remaining emulsion is removed. Further, a transparent resin is coated thereon as a protecting film.
