Abstract
PURPOSE:To investigate a fault position rapidly and securely by reading diagnostic data inputted by a diagnostic device and by judging whether the fault is occuring in a controller or the diagnostic device side. CONSTITUTION:Diagnostic device 2 receives various diagnoistic data S1 from automatic plant controller 1 to diagnose the state of controller APC1 and then transmits state signal S2 of controller 1 to operator panel 3. For example, a fault occurs and AND circuit 12 generates a fault signal. In this case, controller 1 is disconnected from the plant and while the plant is controlled in manual operation mode, device 2 discontinues the diagnosis. Then, an operator operates panel 3 to read diagnostic data S1 out of storage circuit 13, thereby judging whether the fault is at the device 1 side or device 2 side. If data S1 is faulty, device 1 is found abnormal and if data S1 is normal, device 2 is found abnormal.
