Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure an easy detection for the oil seal characteristics, by piercing a shaft through a cylindrical substance having sealed both ends and then providing a means to measure the pressure and the flow rate of a link tube into the two chambers divided by the oil seal attached close to the shaft and via the link tube. CONSTITUTION:The covers 3 and 4 plus seals 5 and 6 are attached at the both ends of a cylindrical body 2 through which the shaft 1 pierces and then sealed up. The oil seal 7 is fixed to the inner wall of body 2, and the inside of oil seal 7 is divided into two chambers A and B. The liquid L is filled into both chambers A and B, and the liquid is supplied to chamber B from the tank 15 via the link tube 11. When the shaft 1 is turned, the liquid L in chamber B is pushed into chamber A via the oil seal 7. The pressure in chamber A and B is measured by pressure gauges 12 and 13. At the same time, the flow rate is measured by the measuring box 17. In such way, the characteristics of oil seal 7 can be detected easily.
