Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a projector small-size and make formed images sharper by providing one or plural pieces of reflecting mirrors and an extra thin semitransparent mirror in the optical path for the rays guided to a screen surface through a projecting lens, thereby reducing the optical path length. CONSTITUTION:The rays past a projecting lens 13 are reflected by a reflecting mirror 16, and about half the rays thereof pass through an extra thin semitransparent mirror 17, thence they are reflected by a reflecting mirror 18, and further about half these beams are reflected by the mirror 17 and are irradiated onto the surface of a screen 14, whereby they are imaged. Since the fixed optical path length can be put in a small space by causing the transmission and reflection of light and allowing the light to reciprocate in this way, the projector is made smaller in size and lighter in weight; in addition, double imaging is obviated and the formed images are made sharper by forming the semitransparent mirror extremely thin.
