Abstract

PURPOSE: To make good joining without impairing corrosion resistance by heating and maintaining the material to be joined at a specified temperature in the cooling stage after joining materials made of austenitic stainless steel.
CONSTITUTION: The joining part of the materials to be joined made of austenitic stainless steel is heated by applying a high frequency current to a coil. A strong magnetic field is generated by applying a large pulsating current to the coil. Joining is effected by electromagnetic pressure generated at the joining part. After joining, the material is heated and maintained at 820W850°C.
