Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the area of a magnetic member itself while to prevent the intrusion of horizontal and vertical magnetic force lines into the electron beam pass region, by providing an inner magnetic shield for producing the local field which moves the electron beam in the direction reverse from that to be moved by the earth magnetism. CONSTITUTION:It is composed of a mask frame 38 to be supported through a supporter to the panel pins projected from the inner wall at the side wall section 33 of a rectangular panel 32, and an inner magnetic shield 39 fixed to said frame 38 while extending to the side of an electron gun 36. Said shield 39 has the first inner magnetic shield elements 391, 392 having the trapezoidal shape corresponding with two long sides of said rectangular panel 32 and the second shield elements 393, 394 having the trapezoidal shape corresponding with two short sides, while a portion or space 395 having high magnetic resistance is provided between said first and second elements or at the section of both diagonal lines of said rectangular panel 32. Consequently the moving amount of the electron beam can be reduced while the area of the magnetic member itself can be reduced.
