Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a sintered sliding member with superior bearing characteristics by sintering Fe and a specified amount of S, graphite, etc.
CONSTITUTION: To iron powder are added 2W10% sulfur powder and 0W8% graphite powder, and they are mixed well. The mixture is press molded under 2W 4t/cm2 molding pressure and sintered at 850W1,050°C for 60min in an atmosphere of decomposed gaseous ammonia. To the mixture for sintering is added 1W5% Sn powder. Thus, a sintered sliding member is easily obtd. causing little temp. rise at the beginning of operation and having a superior value of bearing usage limit represented by PV value, considering the surface pressure to be P and the speed of revolution to be V.
