Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality color image with stability to light, low fog density and high maximum image density by adding a specified reducing agent to a heat developing photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by the formula is used as a reducing agent. In the formula each of R1 and R<2> is H or (substituted) alkyl or R<1> and R<2> link together to form a heterocyclic ring, each of R<3>-<6> is H, halogen, OH, NH2, alkoxy, acylamido, sulfonamido, alkylsulfonamido or (substituted) alkyl or R<1> and R<3>, and R<2> and R<5> link together to form a heterocyclic ring, respectively, and M is an alkali metal, NH4, an N-contg. org. base or a quat. N-contg. compound. The reducing agent, an org. silver salt such as silver behenate and a photocatalyst such as silver halide or a complex of silver halides in an amount of 0.0001-0.5mol/mol of org. silver are added to a layer combinedly, or they are added to separate layers. Thus, a heat developing photosensitive material free from a ground stain and haing high shelf stability and superior color forming power is obtd.
