Abstract
PURPOSE: To shortcircuit the axle of an track circuit by mounting conductive rollers rolling under pressure on rails through suspension arms on the shaft box of wheels for a railway vehicle, thereby electrically breaking insulators interposed between the rails and the axle.
CONSTITUTION: Conductive rollers 4a, 4b are so mounted through suspension arms 9 on shaft boxes 5a, 5b of wheels 3aW3d of a maintenance vehicle 1 as to roll under predetermined pressure on rails 2a, 2b. Electric currents flow between the rollers 4a, 4b and the wheels 3aW3b through the rails 2a, 2b by current controllers 17a, 17b respectively, thereby breaking electrically the insulators interposed between the rails 2a, 2b and the wheels 3aW3b. Thus, the vehicle can be effectively detected by the shortcircuit of the axle in the track circuit even if the weight of the vehicle is relatively light.
