CONSTITUTION:At equal-interval positions of the printing head, print position detector 1 outputs print head position signal 21. One-character-unit signal generator 4 receives signal 21 to generate one-character-unit signal 22 at intervals of print set by a print intervals switch, and then outputs it to speed measuring instrument 5 and ring counter 7. Measuring instrument 5 measures the moving speed of the print head for every one-print-character unit, and generates and sends print-head-moving- speed measurement signal 24 to operator 6. Operator 6 calculates a drive period for generating a print dot in the next printing operation by signal 24 obtained by measurement in the printing operation of the last character and outputs print-head-drive- period arithmetic signal 25 to ring counter 7. Counter 7 generates print-head-drive- period signal 26 at intervals determined by signal 25.
