Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a wide range of utilization of the device by a method wherein the movement in the axial direction of a float with a magnet indicating a level of liquid moves vertically is converted into a rotational change by a magnetic rotary plate and further the rotation is detected by a magnetism-resisting element. CONSTITUTION:A magnet 2 is provided in the float 1 moving vertically indicating the level of liquid moves vertically and this magnet 2 is connected magnetically with the plane-shaped rotary plate made rotatably by supporting shafts 5 and 6 inside a cylindrical nonmagnetic enclosing apparatus 3. Moreover, in the range of an angle of 90 deg. on the outer-peripheral surface of the enclosing apparatus 3, a guiding projection 9 projected vertically in a spiral form is fitted freely to the groove of the inner- peripheral surface of the float 1. By such a constitution, the float 1 rotates in the range of 90 deg. and with this the rotary plate also rotates when the float 1 moves vertically with the vertical movement of the level of liquid. Therefore, when this rotation is found as the change in a resistance value by the magnetism-resisting element 8 which is provided at the tip of the supporting shaft 5 of the rotary plate 5 for detecting the magnetic change of a magnet 7, the level of the liquid can be measured.
