Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare an antiglaring mirror for an automobile made of a plastics easily and inexpensively by a method wherein a cavity surface of a side contacted to a gate is formed into a flat surface as well as the gate is constituted as a film gate.
CONSTITUTION: A cavity surface 13 of a side contacted to the film gate 12 is formed into a flat surface, that is, a straight contour as well as a prism like anti- glaring mirror 24 made of a plastics is formed by the injection molding by using a molding machine having a gate formed into a fan shaped flat film gate 12. After the resin solidified, the antiglaring mirror 24 is taken out from a cavity S and the film gate 12 is cut and removed from the flat surface 13 of the mirror main body 24 and, finally, a reflective vapor deposition metal film is formed on a back surface of the prism like mirror main body 24. Because one surface of the cavity S is formed into the flat surface 13, that is, the straight contour, the cutting by a cutter is facilitated. Further, because the film like gate is employed, strain due to the thickness irregularity is not generated.
