Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent thermal deformation and prevent leakage of refrigerant by melt-sticking a thin film of copper to the joint part of a body constituted of an iron material, and fitting a copper pipe thereto, then joining this by means of copper braze or the like.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of joining a copper pipe 2 as a suction pipe to a body 4 made of iron, a thin film 6 of copper is beforehand melt stuck to the fitting part 5 of the body 4. Next, the copper pipe 2 as a suction pipe is fitted into the joint part formed by this film 6, after which copper braze 8 is poured into this joint part, and these are joined by heating. Hence, this method is inexpensive because no silver braze is used, unlike in conventional methods.
