Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a torque member for disc brake having a sufficient rigidity and easy to finish in a torque receiving surface by forming brake pad colliding surfaces at positions closer to mounting parts than a bridge part in the inner surface of torque receiving parts.
CONSTITUTION: In the torque member comprising the pair of mounting parts 2, 2, the pair of torque receiving parts 3, 3 communicated with the mounting parts 2, 2, and the bridge part 4 coupling the torque receiving parts 3, 3 integrally, the brake pad colliding surfaces 5 are formed at positions closer to the mounting parts 2, 2 than the bridge part 4 in the inner surface of the torque receiving parts 3, 3. In such a construction, a broach can be inserted easily for finishing the surfaces 5 using a broaching machine available in the market. The torque member 1 is mounted on a vehicle body through the mounting parts 2, 2 to form a substantially annular form together with the vehicle body. Thus, the rigidity of the torque member itself is as high as a conventional structure which includes a pair of upper and lower bridge parts.
