Burrs 14 are formed on both ends of the strip 12. Then the strip is rounded so that the burrs 14 touch each other projecting toward inside to form a cylinder. The edges are jointed airtightly by electron beam weldering or arc weldering from the inside as the arrow B shows. Thus, the burrer are reduced in hight and the inside surface of the cylinder is smoothed, and the forming of an undesired longitudinal recess on the inside surface of a cylinder is prevented and the production process can be simplified.
