Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate cleaning of an optical system and its maintenance work, by providing fixed side rails on the upper part of main body of a copying machine, and sliding a platen glass plate on the fixed side rails. CONSTITUTION:Mobile side rails 3 are provided via registration guide 1 on both sides of platen glass 6, and rails 3 are fitted to fixed side rails 4 slidably. Engaging hole 7 is provided in one of rails 3, and engaging member 5 is engaged through hole 7 to hold glass 6 on the home position. Platen glass 6 can be slid on rails 4 by pushing glass 6 to push member 5 out of hole 7, and moved from the position right above optical system 9 to other positions in order to facilitate cleaning of optical system 9.
