Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high density image free from fog, etc. by coating a carrier with a resin contg. a polyoxyethylenealkylamine type surfactant to keep the resistance of the carrier low and enhance the endurance. CONSTITUTION:A 0.5-10pts.wt. surfactant such as octylamine of polyoxyethylene represented by the formula (where R is alkyl and n is an integer) and a 100pts.wt. coating resin such as styrene resin are dissolved in toluene or the like, and iron powder or the like as a carrier is dispersed in the soln. This dispersion is dried with a flow coater or the like to obtain a coated carrier. This carrier is then mixed with a toner to prepare a developer. This carrier has superior endurance, undergoes little reduction in the triboelectric charging property even by repeating copy >=200,000 times, and gives a high density image free from fog.
