Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide the rolling equipment capable of rapidly removing the scale formed on both sides of a strip during continuous passing of the strip by a method wherein a liquid honing device and a differential-speed rolling mill are provided on the upstream side of a cold rolling device, and a hydraulic tension leveler is provided on the downstream side of the cold rolling device. CONSTITUTION:The tip end of the strip (steel sheet) S on a rewinder 1 is cut 2, and the strip S is fed through a welder 3 and a looper 4 to the differential-speed rolling mill 5, where a frictional force and a tension is imparted to the strip S. An abrasive together with pressurized water is jetted from the liquid honing device 6 to the surfaces of the steel sheet S which has become easily descalable, to descale the surfaces rapidly. Then, after rolling the descaled steel sheet S by the cold rolling device 8, the rolled sheet S is passed through the hydraulic tension leveler 9 to impart an elongation to the sheet S and correct its shape. Both the sides of the steel sheet S discharged from the leveler 9 are rapidly cleaned by an air purge device 10, then the sheet S is taken up by a winder 13 and is cut up to predetermined size by a shear 12.
