PURPOSE:To automatically carry out appropriate temperature control when an air conditioner for an automobile is defective, by judging of data sent from sensors to a controller, to display a trouble and perform better temperature control. CONSTITUTION:A blower motor 13 is controlled by a microcomputer 20 to alter the quantity of wind and the opening and closing of an on-off valve 17 and a three- way valve 8 are controlled to open or close an air mixing door 12 to condition air by an evaporator 10 and a water heater 11. Values measured by an inside air sensor 22, an outside air sensor 23, a temperature setting unit 24 and a potentiometer 25 are applied to the microcomputer 20. When some one of these sensors supplies the microcomputer 20 with a measured value exceeding the range of predetermined data, the microcomputer regards the sensor as defective and controls the blower motor 13 and the air mixing door 12 on the basis of the measured value from the other normal sensor to perform better air-conditioning.
