Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent staining of a wire with dust, assure uniform discharge over a long period of time and make constitution simple by electrically capturing and removing the dusts in the air around the apparatus and flowing dust-free air into a corona discharging wire part. CONSTITUTION:Insulator shields 141, 142 are disposed on both right and left of a corona discharging wire 13 in its longitudinal direction with said wire in-between, and the upper and lower sides of the wire 13 are opened as openings. Conductive members 16 which permits the inflow of air between the shields 141, 142 are disposed on one opening part. Corona current mostly flows toward a photoreceptor surface 1, and the spacing between the wire 13 and the member 16 is a negative pressure state. The outside air flows into between the shields 141, 142 by passing the openings between the respective members 16 from the upper opening. At this time, the dusts in the air are sucked and captured on and by the members 16 by the voltage generated in the members 16, and the air containing no dusts is flowed into between the shields.
