Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Tris(nonylphenyl)phosphite expressed by formula I or distearylpentaerythritol phosphite expressed by formula II, alone or both together, are added to the reaction mixture in the process of producing a 2-alkoxy-4-formylphenol (A), in an amount of 0.1W5wt% based on the compound (A), to inhibit the thermal degradation of the compound (A) and isolate the aimed compound in high yield from the reaction mixture.
EFFECT: The high isolating yield in the isolating stage through the purification of the 2-alkoxy-4-formylphenol and the reduced troubles in each apparatus.
