Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a constant control characteristic extending over all speeds control range by a method wherein speed pulses with pulse widths inversely proportional to the speeds of the electricmotor are generated and speed command pulses are counted during the period of generating said speed pulses. CONSTITUTION:In the speed controlling device 100 of a sewing machine motor, a speed pulse generator 4 generates the speed pulses with the pulse widths inversely proportional to the speeds of the motor 10, a command pulse generator 2 generates the command pulses in frequencies which are proportional to the command speeds of the motor 10 and sufficiently higher than frequencies of the above-mentioned pulses. During the generation of the speed pulses, the command pulses are counted by a counting means 3, variations of the electric power supplied to the motor 10 are calculated by an operation controlling means 1 according to the differences of the counted contents and a fixed value determined in advance, and the motor 10 is driven at constant speed by changing the power supply in a driving circuit 9.
