Abstract
PURPOSE:To minimize confusion by transmitting a danger signal in an extremely short time as the first step in case when the detected earthquake is considered dangerous more or less, making observation in continuation and canceling the danger signal when it is confirmed safe. CONSTITUTION:The signal from the sensor 11 of a central device 1 is sent to a control processor 15 via an amplifier 12, etc. and the signal from the sensor 21 of each terminal device 2 to said unit via a transmitter 22, a communication wire 3, etc. When the outbreak of an earthquake is detected, the unit 15 indentifies the danger of said earthquake. Namely, the decision of danger/safety is accomplished by comparing the period FP2, amplitude LP2 of the initial movement obtained by observation for about one second after detection of the earthquake and the compared values FC1, Ln3 determined from the correlation between the period and amplitude of the actual waves and the earthquake scale. Here, when it is decided that this earthquake has no danger, the monitoring is resumed, and in other case, a danger signal is once transmitted and the observation is continued.
