Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled lubricant that is made by using a purified mineral oil with a specified viscosity as a base and adding a specific amount of a Mannich reaction product from an alkylphenol, formaldehyde and a polyamine thereto, thus permitting the disposal of sticky substance formed while employed and preventing the development of foams and rusts.
CONSTITUTION: A purified mineral oil with a dynamic viscosity of 10W10,000cst at 40°C and a viscosity index of higher than 80 is used as a base and combined with (A) 0.003W3.0wt% of a Mannich reaction product of 200W10,000 molecular weight obtained from an alkyphenol, formaldehyde and a polyamine and (B) 0.01W 3.0wt% of an antioxidant composed of an aromatic amine and/or an alkylphenol. The Mannich reaction is conducted by using 1mol of a polyamine and 1W5mol of formaldehyde and of an alkylphenol respectively and heating them at 60W200°C for 1W24hr. As component B, an alkylphenol is preferred.
