Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the performance of an exciter as a vibration simulator by making it possible to obtain the best exciting force by holding the exciting force at a fixed value even as the angular frequency of the axle of rotation of the exciter is increased.
CONSTITUTION: At the opposite side of weight 8, cylinder 9 is fixed in the radius direction of rotary member 5 with axle 4 of rotation between both. So that air is sealed in, free piston 10 is fitted in cylinder 9, which is covered with airtight container 2. The thus-constituted exciter is fitted to a body to be tested and axle 4 of rotation and rotary member 5 are turned by electric motor 7 to generate exciting force F, which is reduced by the internal pressure of airtight container 2 to a half force S applied to free piston 10. Exciting force F can therefore be adjusted by varying force S by controlling the internal pressure of airtight container 2 by control valve 11. Thus, the performance of the exciter can be improved.
