Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:3-Phenylcoumarin derivatives bearing dicarbonylimide groups of formula I (X is phenyl which may be substituted with nonionic groups; A forms a 5- or 6-membered ring together with an N atom and 2 carbonyls binding with it, where these groups may be substituted with halogen atoms or lower alkyls.
EXAMPLE: N-(3-phenylcoumarinyl-7)succinic imide.
USE: Additive for improving the light deterioration in polyurethane.
PREPARATION: The reaction of 3-phenyl-7-aminocoumaric acid of formula II with an aliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic anhydride or its free acid is effected to give a 3-phenyl-7-acylaminocoumarin derivative of formula IV. Then, the intramolecular dehydration of the product is conducted to cyclize to the compound of formula I.
