Abstract
PURPOSE: To make wild silk yarn containing tussah silk which has been regarded as not readily dyeably, easily dyeable like domestic silk yarn, to widen the use of the widle silk yarn, and to obtain the same silk with domestic silk yarn, by carrying out acidic refining in combination with alkali refining.
CONSTITUTION: As alkali refining for wild silk yarn just like that for domestic silk yarn, wild silk yarn is put in an aqueous solution containing sodium carboante, sodium phaphate, etc., and a nonionic surface active agent, caustic soda, sodium perborate, etc. are added to the solution. The solution is heated to 30W90°C, and the wild silk yarn is washed with water. As acidic refining, the wild silk yarn is added to an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid, acetic acid, and ammonium persulfate, etc. The silk yarn is heat-treated at 40W90°C and washed with water, to give the desired silk.
EFFECT: Sericin existing on the surface of wild slik yarn and other deposits are removed by acidic refining in combination with alkali refining so that the dyeability is improved.
