Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to perform good weldings even when wet material is to be welded, by installing a pressure gas blowing out nozzle to be used to remove water and to intercept the outside atmosphere, to the exposed surface and lapped part of the material to be welded.
CONSTITUTION: Ring-shaped nozzle 8 is installed so that it may surround well known inert gas arc welding torch 1. Moreover straight nozzle 10 is installed at the front of progressive direction of torch 1. Pressure gas G from the compressor is heated with electric heating equipment 13, and supplied to nozzles 8 and 10 through piping 12b. Ring-shape nozzle 8 is mainly used for removing water from the exposed surface of materials 51 and 52 to be welded and for intercepting the outside atmosphere from the exposed surface, and straight nozzle 10 is mainly used for removing water from lapped part 6 of materials 51 and 52 to be welded. A heating gas which is higher in temperature than the inert gas of torch 1 must be used as at least one of pressure gases G blown out from nozzles 8 and 10.
