CONSTITUTION:Correlation unit 7 obtains correlation signal d(t) between input x(t) and output y(t) of transversal filter 2. For signal d(t), the main signal component appears at the point of t=0. And in case the delayed signal having delay tau and level alpha exists, the waveform similar to the main signal component having level alpha appears just at the point of t=tau. Signal deciding circuit 10 detects both height gamma0 and width w of the main signal component of signal d(t) and then delivers the decision signal which decided whether these height and the width satisfy gamma0>A and w/2<B each to levels A and B to be applied to tap gain memory 5. And memory 5 gives the correction to the value of the tap gain based on signal d(t) and only when the decision signal satisfied the conditions arrives.
