Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the automatic elimination of the multiple propagation distortion against the FM broadcast signal having no special reference signal and thus enhance the sound quality, by providing the signal deciding circuit which detects the nature of the waveform of the correlation signal. CONSTITUTION:Correlation unit 7 obtains correlation signal d(t) between input x(t) and output y(t) of transversal filter 2. For signal d(t), the main signal component appears at the point of t=0. And in case the delayed signal having delay tau and level alpha exists, the waveform similar to the main signal component having level alpha appears just at the point of t=tau. Signal deciding circuit 10 detects both height gamma0 and width w of the main signal component of signal d(t) and then delivers the decision signal which decided whether these height and the width satisfy gamma0>A and w/2<B each to levels A and B to be applied to tap gain memory 5. And memory 5 gives the correction to the value of the tap gain based on signal d(t) and only when the decision signal satisfied the conditions arrives.
