Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable application of multicolor printing even to the surface of a cylinder having a small diameter by detecting the surface to be printed be means of a photoelectric tube and stopping the rotation of a substance to be printed according to a signal therefrom, while pressing the bottom of the substance to be printed on a driving wheel.
CONSTITUTION: The cylindrical substance 2 to be printed whereon a mark 15 for operation of the photoelectric tube is set on supporting rollers 8 and 8' and rotated by a brake motor 3 and the beams of light are sent from the photoelectric tube 1. And, when the beams atrike at the mark 15, the signal therefor is sent to the motor 3 and a valve 6 and thereby the rotation of the motor 3 is stopped. Simultaneously, the valve 6 being opened, compressed air is jetted into a cylinder 4 to drive a piston 6, whereby the bottom of the substance 2 to be printed is pressed against the contacting surface 10 of a compulsory wheel 9. Then, after the entire device is lifted and made to contact with the lower surface of a screen 11, the wheel 9 is rotated and thereby printing is conducted.
