Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption when communication is intermitted by eliminating the need for burst communication for holding the synchronism between a master device and subordinate device when the communication is intermitted and by activating only a circuit which detects the reception of an origination request signal and a synchronizing circuit at the subordinate device side. CONSTITUTION:After end information of signal bits is transmitted, the output of origination control circuit 26 is held at the low level with control signal 31. Line driver 21 is disabled and line receiver 22 is enabled at any time and held in standby. Subscriber's circuit 10, on the other hand, holds the output of transmission control circuit 17 at the low level with control signal 7 simultaneously with the reception of the end information from digital subscriber's terminal 20. The output of gate 18 is held at the low level and while line driver 11 is disabled, line receiver 12 is enabled at any time and held in standby.
