Abstract
PURPOSE:To automatically detect the abnormal magnetism due to a sunken vessel or the like by a method wherein the magnetic field measuring signal is normalized, then a Haar characteristic extracting function is obtained by a Haar converter or the like, and the amplitude value of said function is discriminated. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic field measuring signal SGNL from a magnetic abnormality detector is converted into a digital signal and then normalized in time in a running average processing unit 2 by calculating a representative value X every number N outputted from a running average section calculating unit 1 in response to the height measuring signal HIGT of an airplane or the like equipped with a detector. Said X is calculated in a high-speed Haar converter 3 to obtain a Haar spectrum HSP, and a proper calculation is moreover performed to obtain a Haar characteristic extracting function. Whether or not the time needed for the amplitude value of said function to exceed the first threshold value exceeds the second threshold value is discriminated in a discriminating unit 5 to output a last discriminating signal LAST in order to decide whether the magnetic field measuring signal war obtained from a sunken vessel or noises.
