PURPOSE:To automatically detect the abnormal magnetism due to a sunken vessel or the like by a method wherein the magnetic field measuring signal is normalized, then a Haar characteristic extracting function is obtained by a Haar converter or the like, and the amplitude value of said function is discriminated. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic field measuring signal SGNL from a magnetic abnormality detector is converted into a digital signal and then normalized in time in a running average processing unit 2 by calculating a representative value X every number N outputted from a running average section calculating unit 1 in response to the height measuring signal HIGT of an airplane or the like equipped with a detector.
