Abstract
PURPOSE: To uniformly cool lumps to a prescribed set range by placing a telemeter at a position above the charge inlet of a rotary cooler and a thermometer at the discharge outlet and controlling the revolutional number of the cooler or an exhaust fan when the detected value deviates from a set range.
CONSTITUTION: The level of lumps charged into cooling vessel 11 is detected with telemeter 3, and the signal is sent to the 1st controller 5 and compared to a set value. When the level is lower than the set value, controller 5 instructs motor 6 for driving rotary drum 1 to rotate further slowly. When the level is higher than the set value, controller 5 instructs motor 6 to accelerate the rotation slightly. Thus, the stock in vessel 11 is kept at a level in the set range. The temp. of the lumps discharged after cooling is then detected with thermometer 7, and the signal is sent to the 2nd controller 8 and compared to a set value. When the detected temp. is higher than the set value, controller 8 instructs motor 9 of a blower attached to suction duct 2 to increase the volume of air sucked.
