Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to control a defective group without using ROM by consisting data in a housekeeping loop of a start mark part, defective information part and data check part.
CONSTITUTION: The housekeeping HK loop consists of start mark part 101, defective information part 102 and data check part 103. Mark part 101 has its start bit and end bit set to logic "0" and also has logic "1" interposed between the both and the number of "1" is made greater than the sum of the number of allowable loops and that of bits of check part 103. With regard to information part 102, the number of all loops is equalized to the number of minor loops, a string of bits corresponds to positions of minor loops and whether a loop that corresponds to its logic value is normal or not should be indicated. To check part 103, a check code is added which checks whether data of information part 102 is correct or not. Then, the place where the data check is finished is regarded as the zero position of minor loops. Consequently, information positions in minor loops can be made to correspond to addresses.
