Abstract
PURPOSE: To mitigate the destruction of a double walled structure bu eliminating the formation of a slide zone interface in a filled earth between walls by a method wherein a sufficient number of slide preventive members are installed in the filled earth with a proper spacing.
CONSTITUTION: A double wall 1a, 1b is constructed by tightening tie rods 8... connecting the head of front wall steel sheetpile 4 with the head of the rear wall sheet pile 5. In the space between the walls 1a and 1b earth 2a is spread with a proper thickness to be the bottom layer, then a slide preventive member 3 such as a wire net is placed horizontally, and earth 2b is placed again with a proper thickness upon the member 3, then followed by a slide preventive material 3 placed horizontally. Thus repeating the process to spread the fill 2d and applying coping treatment of concrete on the fill 2d between the head of sheetpile 4... and 5..., the rear side of the rear wall 1b is backfilled with earth 10. The double walled structure 1 is thus completed.
