Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce noise by counting sequences of the same codes and different codes while they overlap each other, and by determining the width of quantization by monitoring codes inputted continuously. CONSTITUTION:Input signal (f) and quantized signal (g) are compared mutually by comparator 40 and encoded by encoder 41 before being outputted as a DELTAM sequence. This output is inputted to register 42 and the polarity code is inputted to D/A converter 45. The output of register 42 is supplied to logic circuit 43 for companding logical operation to supply an address to ROM44. A digital value of step width from ROM44 is decoded through converter 45 and integrator 46. Circuit 43 counts sequences of the same codes and different codes with the both overlapping each other and, when a prescribed number of codes are counted and a sequence of the same codes or different codes is inputted, increases or decreases the width of quantization. Thus, the width of quantization is increased or decreased rapidly to reduce noise.
