Abstract

PURPOSE: Novel polyester fibers having a small amount of snap-back, and improved raising properties and perlocking properties in gigging clothes, obtained by adding a specified amount of a noncrystalline polymer having a specific glass transition temperature and incompatible with PET to PET.
CONSTITUTION: A polyester consisting substantially of an ethylene terephthalate unit is blended with 1W15wt%, preferably 3W9wt% noncrystalline polymer having a glass transition temperature not lower than 150°C incompatible with the polyester. The noncrystalline polymer improves the surface state of clothes, reduces the level of breaking tenacity to 2.5W3.5g/de, improves an amount of sanp-back to not more than 4%, and makes the evenness of the surface of clothes in raising, yarn evenness of perlocked spun yarn, and the fluff state of conjugated woolly fibers better.
