Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to start cutting of an extra-thick plate in a perfect atmosphere even in water, by providing a cover as a mean of expelling water at the point to start cutting in addition to the injection of fluid. CONSTITUTION:A cover 6 is semi-cylindrical and its root end is fitted to and held by the outside circumference of the tip of a nozzle 1. The length of the cover 6 is preferably around the value of the clearance between the nozzle and the plate surface added to the thickness of an extra-thick steel plate M.
