Abstract
PURPOSE:To fit a transmitter and receiver to existing piping easily and precisely by forming contact surfaces of fitting tools so that while the center axis of an ultrasonic transducer is at right angles to the wall surface of the piping, an ultrasonic wave propagation path runs in the center of the piping. CONSTITUTION:Fitting tools 2a and 2b for transmitter 3a and receiver 3b are coupled like a hinge at one-side ends with pin 7, and the other-side ends are tightened up by tightening bolt 5 and nut 6. An ultrasonic wave pulse propagates in a fulid in piping 1 from trasnmitter 3a and is reflected by the internal wall surface of piping 1 to reach receive 3b. At this time, the ultrasonic-wave propagation path is the straight line running in the center of piping 1, namely, equivalent to the diameter, and the contact part between the contact surface 10 inside of fitting tool 2a and piping 1 is positioned right on the ultrasonic-wave propagation path. Consequently, the transmitter and receiver can be fitted to the piping easily and precisely without any adjustment in the fitting.
