Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a rotary machine from vibrating abnormally during the performance of discrimination by estimating the amplitude of vibration after data processing and by discriminating a fault on the basis of the estimated value. CONSTITUTION:The output signal of vibration pickup 6 fitted to the journal part of bearing 5 supporting a rotating shaft system is converted by vibrometer 7 into an electric signal, which is inputted to control arithmetic device 10 via multiple data input device 8 and A/D converter 9. The rotation signal from rotation detector 15, on the other hand, is inputted to control arithmetic device 10 via tachometer 16, and on the basis of the amplitude of vibration at that time obtained by control arithmetic device 10 and previous data, vibration estimating device 11 finds the estimated value of the vibration amplitude after the performance of data processing. Then, discriminator 12 compares this estimated value with the reference discrimination value from memory device 13 and then the existence of a fault is discriminated to display the result on display device 14. Consequently, the generation of abnormal vibration can be detected in the early stage where the vibration is small.
